I live nr Lyme Regis and collect and prepare fossils for a hobby. I do all the work and the one in the photo is from Monmouth Beach, Lyme Regis. Took 3 months to prep that one. Do you have an interest in fossils?

Only a passing interest from Geology at school and spending a lot of time out in the hills and wild places . I do love a trilobite and ammonite though , they are both real crowd pleasers .

I think if you have regularly wax oyling the subframe you should be ok. Do you live nr the coast?

No Steve... smack in the middle of Britain in West Midlands. Unfortunately my C Estate just won't fit in the garage so SWMBOs run-around lives in there instead - and it only does 1Kmiles per annum at most!

Well just to update you all, MB have replaced the rear subframe FOC under warranty so very pleased about that. Would have been a very expensive job ( and a shock) at MOT time.

I am pleased but more importantly it should hopefully mean MB can't get out of replacing other peoples rotted subframes. I have only just bought the car so I have not had it from new, and it is 10 years old, so I think MB might be managing a problem that they would rather keep out of the press....maybe
