As I wait to watch the recorded highlights of the qualifying (I'm having a few beers and waiting on my calzone delivery), I'm wondering how many people here buy official Mercedes F1 clothing?
I am the typical sucker because I buy new clothing every year. I suppose it is similar to football (I have absolutely no interest in football) in that they make subtle changes every year to justify a new purchase often at a higher price.
I currently have the 2021 Polo and t shirts both in black...with an extensive back catalogue that I no longer wear. :(
I have purchased a couple of polo shirts and a couple of jumpers over the years. Mostly as gifts for my nephew (a young lad and MB freak).
I say the stuff top quality. I have one jumper and can see it lasting forever. Also not cheap articles either.

Yes I've been buying it for years and never had any complaints about the quality...certainly seems to be top notch. :)
One thing I have noticed since buying the constructor winning t shirt at the end of 2019...
I have always taken a size medium but when I first tried on this shirt it felt noticeably tighter on me, so after that I started ordering a large size in both t shirt and polo shirt.
Now everybody reading this will probably be thinking it is me that's getting bigger, and this would be a reasonable assumption because I am. :D
But my older medium shirts are still a nice comfortable fit on me, the same as the newer large ones are.

Speaking of size I ordered a pair of Puma X Ray 2 AMG Petronas F1 trainers recently in my regular size 9, but when they arrived they were just a wee bit too tight for comfort so I had to get a size 9.5. I have been a size 9 for about the past 40 years.
Lovely trainers though.

Oh yeah those trainers do look nice. How much did they set you back. I might get a pair.

Bought them from here.
They are a Scottish company and if you sign up to their newsletter they send you a 10% discount code to use on your first order. I bought mine exactly 2 weeks ago and just checked on a different device to see if my code is still working, but it has expired.
Cost me a total of £68.36 with free fast delivery. :)
If you do order a pair make sure to go half a size up on your normal size.
I originally ordered my first pair from Netherlands based Fuel For Fans before finding out they were too small. I couldnt be bothered with the hassle of sending them back so decided to keep them and try to sell them on.

great track, naff race. and how does the exhaust sensor play up, drop your lap time 2 seconds a lap, then magically fix itself so you can get fastest lap?

as for track limits YES thank goodness, flipping cheats. New lap record? of course you did, you drove half the distance and by straightening everything you are carrying 30mph more through every corner than they did in Senna's day !!!

it should be mandatory that each track puts grease on every kerb 1 foot after the tarmac ends, and then we'd be able to see if these experts can actually learn to drive !!!

Should just put the gravel back to the edge of the track

This would seem logical and would punish any mistakes, but would actually be dangerous for motorbikes so I believe this is the reason it is not done.

I hadn't thought about it (and don't really agree), post race, one of them mentioned its so the bikers don't die as often. the crash is far less nasty sliding up smooth tarmac..... But I think a better solution is the one my brother thought up.... drive the bikes in the other direction then you can have in and out set up to suit each....

bikes either get it wrong locking a front and go more or less dead straight or fall off coming off the bends - the cars seem to forget to turn in enough (brain dead? or too brave as no consequence?) and get halfway round before hitting the kitty litter and or spin at the apex. So cars crash in a different area of the track....

Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff explained that a faulty sensor had caused Bottas’s engine to enter a safety mode, costing him in the battle against Verstappen.

“That was unfortunate, because he really caught up well to Max, and then it kind of stabilised at 1.5, 1.6 seconds, but he had more to come at the end of the race,” Wolff said.

“We made a switch change, in order to basically override a sensor that was saying we are running too hot on exhaust temperatures, and we couldn’t override it.

“So the engine went in protection mode and cost him five seconds.”

Should have come in the forum and got sorted.

I got the notification but delayed my visit to this thread till after I had seen the highlights on Channel 4...plus my Budweiser and a takeaway of course. :D

What a monumental achievement by Lewis Hamilton...he just keeps on raising the bar further and further...he is a machine with no signs of slowing down. At 36 years old he is the third oldest on the grid, and the other 2 only have 3 titles between them to Hamilton's 7.
People (haters) say it is all about the car but you only have to listen to Lewis talk...he never bigs himself up and is consistently praising everybody involved with the development and running of the team.
Everybody involved in F1 recognises the level Lewis Hamilton is performing at, so it really ****es me off when the armchair haters say things like "put him in a Williams and see if he wins"

Well he wouldn't would he!!!!

He has now accused RB of using a "Bendy" rear wing which gives them 3 tenths
