Thanks coolpot for your fast response.

I have tried the sequence many times and I cannot reset it.

What I have on start up is a spanner sign with -217 across the screen where the mileage is displayed. After about 15 seconds after starting the engine the spanner sign -217 goes and on comes the mileage in its place.

Maybe Im doing something wrong - although I am following the procedure outlined.

Any Thoughts ?????? Thanks - This is a Fab forum.

According to my handbook.. (Slightly different wording...)

Turn the key to position 2 and immediately press button '0' twice within one second.

Turn the key back to position 0 in the lock.

Press and hold button '0'. Turn the key to position 2. Keep button '0' pressed.

Hope this helps?!

Service reset for 2000 ML320

Thanks,
I'm glad I found this forum on benz enthusiasts!
I have two old Mercs at present that we are trying to sort out an 84 300SD Turbo Diesel with only 142K Miles on her and very little rust.
And our 2000 ML320 I do all the maintenence on the two (as much as possible) The dealer is my very last resort so we can still afford to eat!
Thanks for any help on this Shedule A/B Reset. Oh and my SRS light is on My Benz Dealer pointed it out and said they could fix it for about $500.00 then going on to say that it could spontaniously deploy at random if they don't fix it...my reply??? "Well I guess I'll just have to die in a firey crash then because I do not have an extra $500 laying about."

Just reset mine using the above method, spot on ! Another good one i found on an American site,
1 Get in and shut door.
2 Turn key to pos 2 and hold throttle to the floor for 15 secs, turn off whilst foot planted !
3 Release pedal and don't touch anything , dont open door etc, for at least 2 minutes.
4 Resets transmission to suit your driving, car is miles smoother changing gear, best thing i've come across in years !!!:D

This is the procedure. Once you have completed the procedure you must keep button pressed untill you hear beep and new service data appears

Tried that loads of times and it just doesnt work, anyone got anything differant

Thanks

My first C280 (W202 model, as yours will be) wouldn't reset either. Tried scores of times without success. Eventually had to have it reset by my indy using Star diagnostic.
