You will find most new cars have a 12v socket (for sat nav etc to plug in) but no ashtrays.

Many manufacturers now list 'smokers pack' as an optional cost extra.

Times have changed, look around - nobody smokes anymore - give up your habit!

Yes, agree with Micman. Mercedes fit the stowage tray and power outlet as standard and offer the ashtray and cigar lighter pack as an optional extra now. Anyway, why would you want to destroy a hard earned, lovely car by filling it with smoke on a daily basis!

Ford is/was the other way round and the Ashtray/lighter was an NCO (no cost option) to delete and replace with a rubber mat and power socket

Nothing better than cruising down the road, cigarette in hand, relaxing and enjoying a nice peaceful drive. Dont like the smoke in my car, use your own.

I had a VW Passat that use to pump exhaust fumes directly in to the cabin, untill VW fixed it 'free of charge' on a 6 year old car!!!
Look, some people smoke, I know its s disgusting habit, smelly and expensive, but people do. I've been stopped from smoking in my company vechile by our Nanny Government, as well as in pubs but there are lots worse thing I could do, ie drink and drive, beat my wife and kids and fart in public etc, I dont, I choose to smoke cigarettes, in my car amongst other places, for which I pay our government a lot of tax.
If I go for a drive in your car I wouldnt smoke in it, but in mine yes, and if you dont like it, then drive your own car.
Now I'm on my high horse, live and die I say!!!!

Your kidding. Admitting to smoking is getting to be the modern version of coming out of the closet:lol:

I smoke at the weekends. Funny that I can go all week without one, then want 'em at the w/e.

Still, as Rumpole said "no vice on earth is worth foregoing, just for the sake of an extra year in the old folk's home."
