Went to reset service interval on my s205? 2017 c class but now it says ' b service overdue by 13900 miles ' and when trying to reset says ' full service could not be completed' It was only due an a service and was 5 days early as well.

Anyone know the answer to this problem?

Thanks

...whats the date inside the car displayed on the sat nav

some cars got muddled when satellites all rolled over the clock in 19 year cycle - the service schedule can use this to part calculate when it needs a service

some get updated by a dealer software update - some that have the update can select which 19 year cycle we're in (a 2019 update)
some get updated by clever buggers making update discs Merc never bothered to do
many are left in limbo, coz no one cares anymore

on some tomtom's you can add the patch they never bothered to make and it boots up and corrects itself

Take a step back. What code scanner are you using to try and reset the service interval.

I have not serviced it yet, but last year the service was late by21 days as garage was busy and it wouldn't reset without using Snap On diag tool. Thought I would avoid that problem this year..
The sat nav is Garmin and does not seem to have a date on it. I was using the steering wheel buttons to do the reset.
Another forum says once you have driven it 50-70 miles it can be reset, or I will take it in this week.

Thanks for ideas.

when I reset mine it asks what merc grade of oil u put in and that impacts how long till next lag
a steering button reset I think is a bodge just to remove the nag

I suspect a posh diagnostic tool reset writes to the real list of who vandalised the car...

the idea has NOTHING to do with servicing or maintenance - the idea is ONLY to report to merc how successfully its falling apart so they can engineer enough bits to get them out of the cost of inside warranty failures, and to further improve the rest so it dies quicker - thus main dealer interrogation and reporting back is the most desirable choice for them...

this sounds awfully like my service reset problem on my E400 (C238), it was it's 5th service (service A) and was carried out by an independent, after he reset the service indicator it immediately stated that I missed a service B 40,000 kilometers ago, which is not true i've not missed any service,

according to @star it's a 'known issue' requiring a PTCU (power train control unit) update, and occurs every 5th service...

I have not yet had the update so i'm irritated with the message every time i start my car,

I also won't pay mercedes 4500 Swedish kroners to 'fix' the problem which is a known issue... as that's what they'll charge me (minimum),

they will insist on 'mercedes diagnosis' which is approx 250 euro, plus the 'fix' which will probably cost the same

rip off if you ask me...

Thank you anyweb. Will let you know if we manage to sort this without the 'help' of main dealers ( where the car will not be going whatever the outcome)
MB have sold me a car with poor software- error occurs- somehow this becomes our problem- they charge us to fix their error

You are right it's a complete rip off

Job done. Just a normal garage level diag tool needed, and a bit of time
