Good luck if your go down that route, personally I'd go with the bigger screen and touch experience.

I’m waiting to see what the cost is. The touch screen option would be nice, having had it with the Panasonic in my Saab.

Will also spend some time sourcing a touch screen version for my audio20

I’ve bought an android touch screen unit and the usb adaptor for CarPlay. Arriving Wednesday. Will see how long I can resist fitting it! I’ll take photos during the process when I do.

Bad news...

Amazon say it’s being delivered TODAY!

USB not until tomorrow though... might be able to make that accessible to just plug in.

Have some work to so first so hope I can get that out of the way.

Well... spent quite a while on it today. Going to have to take it out again tomorrow and reroute the cables better as the radio won’t go back in again.

... and to make matters worse. Tapatalk won’t upload photos at the moment.

Right... so got the bulk of it done yesterday, then realised the cables were interfering with putting the Radio back in so did it all again today.

We we gone from this

Looks good, I’m not a fan of the stick on look personally but I can say it does seem to give you a really good usable device, just wish it was a little more in leaping with how the dash flows

Because of the bracket is uses, it feels more like the big screen found in newer cars.

Weirdly, it’s actually given me access to this...

... which I *never* had access to, nor even knew my car *had* navigation built in... even if it is very old!

I was trying to find how to embed a video on Tapatalk but can’t!

Here’s a link instead.

The additional part I have done on mine is to split the car GPS feed rather than run off the one that comes with the unit as I found it could at times loose its lock.

On Audio 20 the Fakra K connector is in the passenger side footwell. You have to remove the carpet and then the side kick panel under the dash (in front of the door) and it is then under a panel in the bottom corner.

Not an issue if you plan to always use Carplay off your phone, but just thought I'd mention it.

Thanks for that. I’ve used Sygic on my phone for years and prefer it to anything else. Mind you, apple maps is pretty good too but needs data.

The main reason for putting this in was for CarPlay so will not really use the unit’s navigation.

Still puzzled how this unit gives me access to some built in navigation from Mercedes that my car never showed me!

Still trying to get the wireless CarPlay working though...

Yep no doubt, just doesn’t quite work with the dash design/flow for me personally, then again I’m really fussy in that respect but if you like it then that’s what matters

I think it looks really good but then I’m a fan of the iPad type as I have it in my GLC. Well done!

As you don’t have a “Navi” button on your dash, it looks as though a previous owner had Navigation 20 retrofitted. The standard way to access that was to press and hold the “C” button by the central controller wheel. It is a discontinued system so you can’t get map updates now,

That explains it. Thanks. That’s exactly how I get it to show! Never knew it did that.
