Hi Folks, (AGAIN!)

When firing up the car all seems to settle down quite quickly to a reasonably smooth tickover. However, if during the initial 15 minutes or so of driving I sit on the brake at lights, and don't select N, the greabok seems to "Grumble" and engine seems to be labouring. Move To N, grubling stops, and engine settles to a quiet tickover. (Approx 700rpm-ish)

Any suggestions as to what this might be? Also, what's a recommended change time for the autobox fluid? And is it relatively east to get the torque converter emptied?

TIA

What is the idle speed during warm up and in D. Never does any harm to change the gearbox oil, yes your car has a drain plug on the torque converter.

It could also be your engine mounts

are playing up. Ours sounded like bag of rusty spanners in D when held, but not in R or N. 2 new e/ms and you can't even tell it's running.

Just got a price on engine mounts myself yesterday. £60 each.:(

I got prices for other things too;
Front prop donut £95
Rear prop donut £36
Gearbox mount £33.

All plus VAT.

Eye watering stuff. That's before you get your hands dirty.

too much for the engine mounts

about £45 at GSF or ECP. Try Dronsfields for the doughnuts. I had a propshaft with all the bits attached for £150 from them.

So is this indicative of the EM's (Engine mounts...took me a while to get that one ;-)

Or, as douughnuts are mentioned are they the next thing to check?
