Hi

I have driven a great car today but it had a tiptronic box. When I nudge the lever to the left it says 4th gear at about 55mph but when it goes to the right it just says D.

How do I know if 5th gear is working? I am taking it up the motorway so any idea of what revs it should be doing at 75mph?

Also does the buttons on the steering wheel do anything to change gear?

Thanks

The readout sounds right, step down to 4th and then back to 'D' for drive.

As far as revs are concerned 70mph is about 2200rpm and 80 about 2500.

Hope this helps.

I must admit to not using the tiptronic, I find that the engine is responsive enough without.
