I have a couple of questions I have been thinking about for a while now & don’t want to physically try it to find out, do these 722.6 transmissions have any lock out devices to.
A. Stop the driver engaging reverse while still traveling forward.
B. Selecting too low a gear manually, that would over rev the engine.
I did manage to find a fairly reputable lubrication station here in Russia & had the
transmission oil & filter changed. They had MB oil, P/T No A001-989-210-310.
The transmission oil that came out was a little dirty but nothing to be alarmed about.
I would say normal for the mileage of the car. So hopefully I shouldn’t have any transmission problems.
I also need to find a good synthetic or semi-synthetic engine oil, this station was selling Total Quartz 9000, 5/40w. Does any members have any info/experience of this oil?. I was thinking due to the winter temps here of -30deg I may be better with a 0/40w engine oil.
The car is a 1997, 2.9td.
Thanks in advance for any information
