Auto window open via the remote key -CLK

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could shed light on the Auto window down feature on my CLK.
When I press and hold the unlock on the key fob sometimes all the windows open , but annoyingly most of the time they don't.
Should I be pointing the key at any particular place or is there a reset/sync I can do to make sure it works every time. (I often (try to)feature when putting my kid in her baby seat)

If its like my C Class, you have to point it at the Drivers door as there is an infrared receiver located on the handle and thus needs line of sight.

Isnt it too cold in Blighty to open all the windows ...

As psmart. one quick press on the remote will unlock the car, holding the button down will open the windows, or close them again.

The long range RF part will only lock and unlock the car.

It's the same with the roof of a cabrolet. Whilst you can lock and unlock the car from the next field, the auto roof only works standing no more than a couple of metres away pointing the key at the drivers door handle.

Never hear of it or not aware it does.

I am aware in my C-class if you forgot to close the windows if it electric or the sunroof, if you press it continuously for a few seconds it will close the windows and sunroof.

For my slk to fold back or put back the roof, the windows wind down first because it obstructing the roof. For newer slk you can opt for this feature with your remote.

Yes, my 53 plate classic se had it as well as the 07 plate AG.

Point directly at drivers door handle, at the sensor, little 10mmsquare job, hold button to close/open all window, sunroof if you hav one - safety feature is you being right next to car so not entrapment dangers.


Our AG has anti trap windows but the classic did not
