A 124 was the first Mercedes I drove.
It was an 200 and gutless as hell, but I was still hooked. It was the company car of a mates boss and he threw me the keys and said let's go out. Very naughty as he'd have been sacked if they knew, but funnily enough his boss later became a mate and when we told him about it he just laughed.
On the back of that drive I bought my first W202.
Still have a hankering for a 280 or 320 estate. Maybe after the 210 goes to the rust pit in the sky...
Are you suggesting I might be able to get a bag full of flour for £9k?Well LK, if you've got a spare £9K laying around for an immaculate seven seater...:

Not the best spec in my opinion. It has air but that's about it.Sorry, A - I was mucking about earlier trying to get the extended memory of copy/paste to work and it seems that it did after all (SWMBO had me looking at the recipe site (which did nothing for me))!
Should have been:

I must admit it's a nice car; I could be tempted...
You are aware that was a PorscheA W124 S500 was the first Mercedes I had been in. It was that car that got me out of Fast Fords and into the brand. Its still the nicest car I've been in and that includes a Bentley Continental and a few 6 and 7 series BMW's
My first ever Mercedes to drive was a 450SE at the age of 21, after that alarming experience I went out and bought a 450SE, it was gutless and never the same acceleration than the one I drove a few months ago. Found out why when it came back into the workshop, had a 6.9 badge on the right hand side of the boot lid and an L at the end of the SE badge I kept my 450 SE for 5 years though
The first MB I had the pleasure of driving was an SL230 Pagoda and the second was a 1960ish 6.3 SEL. Both at the extreme end of performance abilities at that time. I was a smart arse salesman at a high end Sports Car dealership which was owned by the father of F1 and Indycar driver Mark Blundell. Great days long gone
Small world, I think I have an advert for his dealership from and old newspaper, Kings Lynn area if I recall correctly.
My next door neighbour though elderly now remembers the dealership too, his was into his TR2' E-Types and Porches's to name a few in his ownership. Ex Mechanic of course.
I on the other hand got to work on a few celebrities cars when working for Audi/VW, won't tell you how we found out owners, but thinking back........Too much information left in their cars
Low and behold, sitting here in the tray

That is Martin Brundle's Father. The guy I worked for was Danny Blundell, Father of Mark Blundell. The two do actually run a F1 management company to-gether, it must be a bit confusing at times
Sounds like the Blundell's were really into their cars
My son lived in Watlington for a while
