Hi all,

I've got a 1998 W202 C250TD. Today i was driving the car and tried to accelerate at around 30mph. There was the normal kickdown, but then i heard a bang. And afterwards ther car seemed to make a noise when shifting through the gears. It also seems now to struggle on pickup and getting past 3000-4000 revs now. I can put my foot to the floor - the car just makes a whining noise but doesn't respond to acceleration and looks like it doesn't get past 3rd gear. Not sure if this is a gear issue or a turbo one. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

I recently had a similar problem, the pipe from the bottom of the intake manifold had blown off. Check the pipework around the turbo and various places.
