B Service - e320 cdi w210 (2001)

Now the car has decided it needs a B service instead of A.

I have rang the dealers for a cost and they have declined. They have said they change the oil etc, and then undertake extensive checks...

Can anyone elaborate? Do they change the diesel filter? Should I get this done before it goes in? The idel is still lumpy, so will they put it on the star machine or will this be an additional £50 to check if an injector is gone?

And how much should it cost - my A service was £190.

Try another dealer & also ask what discounts they give as the car is over 3 years old. My B service was £468, I supplied my own oil as it is cheaper in Costco, the only extra work involved was the brake fluid which is replaced every 2 years.

If you require a lot of extra work, it will become costly.

Mobil 1, £23 for 4 litres in Costco.
Could be around £15 a litre from MB

I bought mine from GSF for £70 for 8 litres and the car only needed around 5.5 litres.

but this means i only need to buy 1 can of 4 ltrs for next service
