B0001-13 airbag squib open circuit

Hi there I have a 2014 Mercedes ML350 4matic and the airbag light came on and on the dash was saying left front driver airbag malfunction
Checked with OBD scanner and it showed
B0001-13 the squib for the driver airbag (stage1) has a malfunction. There is an open circuit - stored
Any help?

The airbag on the steering wheel has two stages of deployment. There are two plugs on it, a green one and a yellow one. The circuit is broken somewhere. The most likely place is the slip ring, a coiled ribbon cable behind the wheel. It allows the wheel to turn and the connection be maintained. It may have a broken track on it. First place I'd look.
