Hi, I’ve been trawling the Internet along with YouTube, several Mercedes sites and I’m getting nowhere in my search of trying to find the timing chain tensioner location on a 2010 B class 2ltr CDI (w245)

I believe this is the inline 4 engine? The only engine code I can find OM640 but not 100% sure that’s correct. Obviously this has to be in the location of the chain somewhere, but I can’t see it at first glance.

Any help at all would really be appreciated. Thank you very much.

As it has to be well protected by plate covers, you cannot see it from the outside of the engine.
Facing the front of the car, the timing chain/belt will be on the left side.

Found it!! In case anyone else needs to know, it’s on the back of the oil filter housing right at the bottom. Might be able to change it without Removing anything but will take air filter box off and inlet pipes for better access. I’ll upload photos or a video when I do it. Thanks guys
