Nice, I was Aberdeen based but used to go up to Crudden bay quite a lot, (if I wasn’t driving around the Cairngorms or finding Whisky distilleries I’d not sampled before). :D:p

We lived in Hatton in our caravan when we first moved up so used to walk our two energetic Border Collies at Crudden Bay, then we moved to approx 12 miles from the Cairngorms, the snow used to hang around lol, then we moved into a Farmhouse up the road and Lord Buchan as its his country estate we rent on wanted to sell the Farmhouse so reburbed where we are now, we are the only property in the postcode so suits us, but the calling back to the homelands is getting stronger but will have to see if I can do a deal with work that I could just fly to any jobs from there, it would be cheaper than flying from Aberdeen thats for sure.

Thanks John for the welcome and yes enjoying the butteries a little to much as the expanding waistline will tell you. I will never forget the look on my Mrs face when we had just moved to a place called Kildrummy near Alford, went to the local Chippy, Denise fancied a pie and in the deep fat fryer it went, she did say it was very tasty, I could see her veins clogging with each bite:D:D:D

Our daughter who is a veggy always wanted to try one, she was not so keen after trying one. I have had to put my Welsh twist on the tradition of neeps haggis and tatties by adding gravy, its much better but dont think the locals would agree:p

Man after my own heart- in the 'south' (Linlithgow), we always did Haggis, Neeps Tatties and minced beef in gravy- much easier to eat/less 'dry'

Yep that was my take on it, gfar to dry with no Gravy, its mad for such a small Ireland we have so many regional favourites, not had a Bara Brith or Welsh Cake since leaving Wales, need to sort my self out pronto before yet another diet. I have to have a medical for work every six months and the Doctor a big Nigerian Gentleman always gives me a lecture about my BMI, I said to him you had to study for so many years tom become a Doctor to tell me Im fat, I said I can look in the mirror and know that, he was laughing but not impressed. Beer is my kryptonight I look at a pint and gain a stone, so building what they call a Kegerator for homebrew was not the best idea, fun though but the 4 stone I lost last year I have found it this year, just makes me harder to kidnap:D

You offshore then Geoff?
I was hired to go offshore John, but my BMI is not right but I do a lot of Corrosion work for the Navy so have worked on everything from Nuclear Subs to 3 billion pound destroyers so that interests me far more than the surveys they do offshore so they tend to leave me be, but just had a redundancy round and lost my 2 best mates to redundancy, sad one has just chucked the spuds in and got his girl in the family way and he just put a deposit on a new build house so its a real bad time to work in the oil Industry
