Back in the fold

After a year away from MB I am now back behind the wheel of a '96 W124 E280 est. I had one a year ago which I had to sell but missed the feel, practicality and image of the car. I deliberated about which model to go for and using this forum decided that a W210 was a leap of faith too far. My 124 was as cheap as chips and still in good nick so I'm hoping for many happy miles ahead. The missus loves it too

My last one went wrong so sold it quickly, but due to a lack of good 124s at the time, had to replace it with an Omega estate. The Vauxhall is a good old bus and great value for money.........................but it ain't no Benz. With these cheap cars I tend to keep them for a year, or wait until something big goes wrong before chopping it for another. I reckon my new one is a possible keeper though. It has a few little problems though. Some of the bulbs behind the heater controls are blown, and one of the instrument cluster bulbs has gone too. But that really is about it.
