C220 CDI Blue Efficiency Exec SE
Hi everyone, Hope I'm in the right part of the forum! My dad passed away last year and he owned a C220 CDI Blue Efficiency Exec SE, 2012 with 87000 on the clock. I am the executor of his estate and now have to sell the car but the battery needs replacing. I'm afraid I don't know the first thing about these things and am baffled as to which battery to buy. I will probably let the car go through a 'we buy cars' site as I don't live in the area and everything has to be done on brief trips between lock downs! I don't want an expensive battery as I'm selling it, nor do I want to rip a potential new owner off so I wonder it anyone can tell me what I should be looking for please? As far as I can ascertain it has stop/start. Thank you in anticipation. I'd say it is in fair condition although the paintwork on the bonnet and roof has tiny bubbles. Interior is beautiful. Has anyone any idea on what I should be asking £'s? Hope that's ok to post. The battery is my biggest concern currently though.

Hello and welcome

Give Mercedes Grangemouth a call, they’ll sell you exactly the right battery and give forum discount.
They’ll also ship it to where you want

Regarding selling, have a search in autotrader for similar vehicles. You’ll find out then what people are asking.
Actually selling price will be slightly less.

Dreaming of a CL55k - one day maybe....
Do try charging it first it might be fine.

Batteries for cars with stop start are usually gel types (so make sure you use the correct charger) and eye watering (nearer £250 than £100) so worth seeing if it’s ok first.
