Evening,

after using @LostKiwi icarsoft a couple times I’ve decided I’m going to invest in one or something similar.

Is the Icarsoft the best one out there? I don’t really want to spend anymore than the price of the icarsoft which is around £160ish.
Any other suggestions?
Before I go and buy one of those.

There's a multi model version of iCarsoft which might be better long term.

If you could link me to where I would find it that would be brilliant!

It’s okay I’ve found it on amazon £203? Which I didn’t think was too bad

The MB iCarsoft CR-PRO? Advertised on Amazon for £245 ( approx) but make sure that you buy it from an approved iCarsoft dealer, other wise you may have trouble getting updates. Its a good versatile reader,

Be careful as there are some versions of iCarsoft readers that will only read a limited subset of modules across multiple brands.
Make sure it reads the full set of modules you're interested in.

I think I’m just going to use their own site and order one, I still haven’t decided weather I’m gonna order the pro version or just the standard MB one, just in case

I use a Foxwell NT644 Pro to cover the various family cars. Works very well across multiple manufacturers with a good level of detail on each.

ICARSOFT CR V2.0 - 10 OPTIONAL MANUFACTURES vs
ICARSOFT CR PRO - UNIVERSAL PROFESSIONAL DIAGNOSTIC TOOL 2020

Out of the two listed above, does the older one not do the same as the newer one?

Reason I ask is I have been putting off buying a icarsoft due to lack of work. I just want something quick and easy to use that will cover the Santa Fe, Vito and whatever other torture comes about the house. I hopefully might be in a position to purchase this month but dont want to pay extra for the same updated software. i am sceptical these guys are wording the adverts on the website to make it seem the 2020 version does more?

You really need to check the coverage doc to ensure it does what you want but then there is no guarantee it will continue to be updated forever.

limited documentation online as far as i can see. Emailed Icarsoft about differences in two tools and got the reply that they are both the same as in regards what vehicles they cover, just the 2020 version has newer software whatever difference that makes when they both advertise to do the same thing. Curious for more info i emailed them again to find out if both have lifetime updates. Waiting for reply tomorrow.

Hi Ross, would you recommend it over the iCarsoft?
I’ve not tried the iCarsoft, I’ve used it on my Smart and an R230, an R170 as well as a Range Rover and a few others. It’s done me well although I’m not sure it’s as good as the specific MB iCarsoft. I might bring it with me next trip south ;) you can have a play.
