Best Oil for E55's

Hi Guys

I have recently purchased a 1999 E55. The oil is near minimum and I need to top it up.

What would you recommend as the best oil for the job?

I've heard Mobil 1 is ideal, and I have bought a small (1 litre) bottle of Mobil 1 Extended Performance 0W-40. It's a fully synthetic oil. It was £12.99 ofr 1 litre!

Is this stuff ok to top up with - and what should I ideally buy next time?

AMGs recommend Mobil 1. Start saving!

Fully agree with type49, Mobil 1 is the way to go.

Nothing else goes in mine and, as mentioned, both MB & AMG recommend it.

There should be a label under the bonnet near the front saying "Mobil 1" AMG & MB's only recommendation
