Anything that meets the required specification.
Diesels typically 229.51.
Petrols 229.5 or 229.51.

Viscosity is personal choice but I prefer 5w40 grade

Right spec oil and changed on time.
My liquid gold of choice is Mobil 1

The thing with oil is that if doing your own servicing you should be using whatever your handbook states as the minimum specification for your car.
Dealer servicing can be different because they tend to use what they use, and while this should be the correct specification it may not be the recommended viscosity.
Take my car for example...the recommended spec for lowest fuel consumption is 229.71 0W-20, but 229.51/229.52 5W-30/5W-40 is acceptable.
I have had a quick look and genuine Mercedes 229.71 oil seems hard to come by in the UK, and as such I doubt very much any dealer will be using it.....but other brands of this spec are freely available - Comma Eco-Z for example.
As previously stated as long as you are using the correct manufacturers specification of oil you will not go wrong.
The specific brand does not matter.

By coincidence that is my dealer. :)
Looking through their shop they do not have the recommended oil for my car, which is as I expected.
I had a little chuckle when I seen "Genuine Mercedes Benz Key Fob Battery". As far as I am aware Mercedes do not manufacture these batteries....they are simply CR2025 lithium but with a huge mark up in price over say Duracell branded.
Having said that longevity of these batteries can vary hugely depending on manufacturer, so I would probably still go for the Mercedes branded one. Better yet I am intending to buy a service care plan so the fob battery will be replaced free of charge. :D
