Anyone ever used biodiesel,I was talking with a fellow merc owner who apparently uses this all the time and says his car runs sweetly on it.I`m not too sure if he is winding me up,he tells me it costs 89p a litre.

I tried this about a year ago...
My experience is that my E320CDI HATED it - I would say it lost about 1/2 it's BHP - I then tried to put in as much 'clean' fuel as possible, and drove it to drain... and used redex to clean.

Recovered fully after 2 more 'full' tank fill ups from Shell...

I have a friend with a 'tractor' Pajero - it runs fine on it...

If it is PROPER BioDiesel made to EN14214 (properly washed and dried) then any engine will be fine on it, including high pressure common rail systems like the CDI.

Biodiesel has a strong cleaning action, so will clean out your tank and lines and deposit the crud into your fuel filter(s).
