Hello Guys i posted about fumes in the cabin and you told me about black death!
Well i took the car into a local garage that is supposed to have a good reputation on diesels
tyhe car had been running really well except the fumes were horid if vents were not closed.
they reseated the injectors and then the car would not start at all.
so after trying for a day to get it going they sent to injectors to a test bed and the results from it were that all 6 were in need of repair one had a broken magnet others were contaminated their suggestion was maybe bad fuel or bad mix?

they want £95 for each one to be overhauled -BUT that wont guaratee me that the car will be ok
    SO any suggestions welcomed
    its a 320 E cdi estate
    thank you
    rob

Thank you i rang them and it`s £140 each so the £95 to have my ones done locally is actually cheaper so i am having that done now.
just hope the car starts after all the outlay.
Maybe i shud of just put up with the smell in the car at least it was going ok!

Sounds like the threads in the head have been stripped.

Do you know if they are going to repair the head or try and get you to pay for a new one.

Are they charging you for this repair

Hi this is an easy job you hire the tool off ebay to put in a new thread and this is better than mercedes did in the 1st place garages will charge silly prices for the work.

Hi we fit inserts which still allow original bolt to be used, or can drill and tap for 8mm allen key bolt.

Helicoil, quite easy to install and can use original sized bolt (original injector clamp also fits without modification).
