Evening lads and ladies, just bought a gloss black merc back badge to swap out the chrome one and when I stick it in it doesn't curve with the natural curvature of the car.

You cant tell fron a distance but I know the first thing the lads are going to do at work it see its hanging and rip it off

I had an idea of heating the plastic and bending it a certain amount off the car and hoping that would do the job.

Does anyone else have any ideas?

Cheers

Sounds like the wrong badge for the car, I replaced mine with a Black one, and it was a perfect fit, to be honest you'd be better off just getting the correct badge. :)

Was it an original or a ebay China knock off

Nice guys you work with!

Don’t heat & bend the badge, you’ll compromise the surface finish in some way and that will return to bite you. Best way is to get the correct badge- or remove the one you have and carefully spray it black yourself.

Good call re spraying. Should come up nicely too since the prongs will keep it off a surface while spraying.

The cost of decent spray is prob more then the badge.

Go and get a real one from MB Grangemouth, they’ll offer you a discount as a forum member.
