Brake failure - W211

OK the "new generation SL" started out 04 -08 I have the book here and it says Adaptive brakes, they had to wait to get the new platform as there was no room on the old one

Went and picked up the car today complete with shiny new SBC pump. I asked what warranty I get with the new pump and he said any warranty depends on the age of the car, I replied surely you mean the age of the pump he said no the car??. I then concluded that this guy put the A in TWIT and left him to go fetch my car and off I went.
I`ve got to say even though it feels absolutely fine, I`ve learned so much about this system and what a rubbish installation it is that I`m not going to be comfortable with it so its gotta go.

Did dealer give you any hassle over replacing it.I have a 2004 E320CDI,and the dealer said i will have to pay for it myself as there are no outstanding recalls on my car.????

Took 53 regw211 320cdi avantgarde [200k mileage] into MB Bradford today as the 3rd Torque converter is going [last replaced in April under warranty].
Then received phonecall to tell me the SBC unit needed replacement but MB would very kindly go halves so I will only have to pay approx £900. [they are giving me an exact figure tomorrow!!] Funnily enough they are unable at present to tell me if the torque converter is covered under warranty!!!

Has Anyone any advice??

Forgot to mention that the service receptionist told me that the unit was only good for 1 million touches on the brake which equates to using the brake every 0.2 of a mile or 300 times a day over the cars 9 years usage assuming use 365 days a year!!! Is it me????????

The pump cost £850 plus fitting, they should do it within 2 hours
