The brochure is dated Jan 1986. I can’t remember exactly when they moved
I left the army in Dec 81 & I was in Germany for my last 3 years, my intention was to buy a new 123 240D tax free & bring it home with me.You have to keep them abroad for a year to qualify for a tax free import, so mid 1980 I started looking. At the time we were keen caravaners & I had a Renault 16TX, the Renault 20TS had just won tow car of the year award. A good friend of mine had one 3 months old, & had just been promoted & posted to the UK. He needed to sell it otherwise he would have to pay all the tax on it. He offered it to me at a silly price, & remember buying it rather than the 240D saved me £1000. At the time I thought an extra £1000 in the bank was the safest option leaving the army, so deal done. The 20TS was a good reliable car for the 7 years I had it, but it was a rust bucket. I don't know why because others of the the same ago weren't & it was garaged every night.WOW! Love them. Nice to see the genesis though from Viceroy and Royale to Senator. I’ve some Monza brochures as well. They were very nice.Cheers ..... but sonic & I had/drove B Series Senators
