The head gasket on my E320 is bust. I am getting oil into the water but not vice versa. How long can I drive the car without damaging the engine any further?

About as far as a garage. Oil in water in not as bad as water in oil but it is not good and should be fixed now

SW19 London. Happy to travel out of London. Also my 450SL needs a cam replacing (blocked oil feeder) so can do a bulk deal......!

Assuming it's the original one, what sort of mileage has it done ?
Is it leaking oil at the rear drivers side ?

E320 - The headgasket was done in early 2004. The car has done 150k miles.
450SL - The cam has two worn lobes. I have a spare cam at home.

Unlike E300's the later E280/320's often leak oil but rarely into the coolent. In fact 2 long time MB mechanics I've spoken to say they have never seen that before dispite changing hundreds of M104 head gaskets. There must be some other problem...Overheating in the past warped the head ? Use of old or incorrect anti-freeze ? Re-used stretch head bolts ?

Now I am concered! I intend on getting a skim and new gasket. All I need to know is the name of a good mechanic that will do a fantastic job at a good price!

James Leigh quoted me £1,250. I thought that a little steep!
