Hi,

I am in the process of buying my first Merc, a 1968 220 auto, what kind of things go wrong with them and what should I look out for. I have already seen the car and it looks in excellent shape (some minor rust but a lot less than I expected).

regards

hello

I recently bought a 114 coupe 1974, is yours a saloon?.
The one i bought has very minor rust on all the textbook spots for the coupe, rear corners, wheelarch but all the floorpan and chassis are excellent. The battery tray has also gone..
Apparently iffy fuel injection systems can be pricey!!.
Are the bumpers in good nick, the rears can be over £100 but have found cheaper..

Hope to hear from u soon

Nic
