well, lets see if it still makes you happy second time around.

i remember that car Malcolm. it was so much nicer (irrespective of the model) than the 210 i had at the time. in every way. i was quite surprised you sold it, so this decision is much less of a surprise to me than it will be to some. good luck with it (again!)

I had no choice Pete when I sold it, I did not know about the events that were to take place with Lilian. I enjoyed the test drive, that felt just right, it looked good when it arrived. We will see, some how I love fiddling around with them.

I have followed this thread closely, I sold an e30 BMW 325i sport auto in 2004 and have regretted it ever since!
For some reason she started to drink water (no leak) so I thought head gasket, panicked and sold it!
I really wish I could buy that car back, they are at a premium now though!
We only pass this way once, so for what it's worth Malcolm I think you have made the right decision, if not you can always sell!
If anyone sees a red e30 reg g100 yja let me know!

That is the whole point, somehow this did not come to mind till the last few post, I do not like the new one anyway.

Thank you.

Glad you've resolved the dilemma Malcolm

I appreciate what you say about the old car being better than the new in a lot of respects.the more I look at the 212 the quality of the cabin just doesn't compare to the 210 everything looks cheaper unfortunately.

Enjoy your new old car

The outside does look so much better than the face lift but I did like the red interior of the new one but then again as you just didnt really gell with the car it does make sense to have the one back you love.

Well done Malcolm when does the film get released?
A cross between "American Gigolo" and "The Yellow Rolls-Royce" but who will play Malcolm..............

John

Well it certainly has been a sage for sure, hopefully all coming to an end now.

At least the new one has a better spec than any that are for sale right now, and it is in mint condition, so hopefully that will sell OK, plus there are very few for sale anyway. The red interior should sell it.

I regret selling my 1991 MK2 Golf GTI 16v 3 Door "Deep Bumper" in Tornado Red with Tartan interior and BBS wheels

Congrats Malcolm, I look forward to the "Tinkering" Thread, if you want the wheels doing then my mate can help ;)

Well done Malc - a pleasant read with a happy ending.

Now, come sale time (whenever that may be) post this thread to Gordon's inbox and you may have the next buyer lined up :D.

Not sure at this stage if I keep the diamond cut rim, or go two colour chrome powder.

He can do anything, they strip them down and can replace all the hardware as well, you can literally have any finish you want
