C Class 2.0 TD

I am looking to purchase a CDI 220 primarily for the conservative mpg. That said there is a limited supply. I have seen on various web sites a small number of the above 2.0 Sport TD's usually featuring leather interior. I have been unable to find anything out about this model. Ideally I would like to know the mpg and any advise on the marque.

I have not had the courage to ask on the thread for an explanation of what the 'W' actually refers to. At prsent I only own a humble A160. The car is a 1999 if that helps.

W=saloon
S=estate
R=sports coupe or cab.
