- Your Mercedes
- I 2005 BMW E60 530d. 2012 Mercedes e class estate.
As above, a relative has a 2009 c class which during mot prep it was noticed that the rear subframe was broken. Garage would not let her drive the car. Contacted main Mercedes dealer who requested the car be brought to them for examination , giving every impression they would repair same free of charge including the £130 fee for checking but not the £95 transporter cost. They rang the next day and confirmed the fault, but then went through all the usual guff about the age of the car and how they were not really responsible. Ended up stating they would contact Mercedes themselves for an answer and get back to her, coupled with a veiled warning they would need a service history.
I remember this being a topic before at some stage so could anyone who has suffered the same problem let me know how they got on please. The garage who noticed the fault stated that it was well known that some cars had this possible defect for years but no recall was ever put in place.
Many thanks.
