On a visit to bristol airport, the car was parked for an hour. When i returned the battery was dead. To cut a long story short, the radiator fan had decided to turn its self on after i had switched off the ignition. I noticed it running when i popped the bonnet for the RAC man. A quick diagnosis showed the fan drawing 7 amps out of the battery with it at 6 volts. He got me going again, but the problem is me having to diconnect the fan each time i park. Has anyone else experienced this problem and if so what was the cure

how old is it, if it is a late one it can be diagnosed with the hand held tester

the car is a 99 T. Not sure if its the air con or the cooling system thats making it come on using the battery as a power source. The radiator only has the one fan, unlike my mates E class that has three
