c180 strange behaviour

recently my c180 1996 behaved oddly i set of from a set of traffic lights and it felt like there was no power ii stopped the car but did not turn engine off. It continued to run but felt lumpy when attempting to rev it was not very responsive, i switched engine off and restarted and it ran fine, it has done this about 6 times in last 3 weeks, it seems to do it when i am moving slowly, it has had a new mass air sensor fitted about 6 months ago and a new gear selector about 3 monhs ago so i do not think it relates to those items anybody any ideas

Hi Malcom i bought MAF from Andrew Page and it was a bosch, i unplugged it whilst fault was occurring no change in engine running. i MAY BE RESIGNED TO TAKING IT TO A MERC INDIE TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC DONE BUT AM EXPLORING VARIOUS AVENUES COS I KNOW THEY DONT ALWAYS SHOW FAULTS.
