Hello,
I've recently purchased a C180K SE. The car was registered in Sept 2003. I has done just under 14800 miles and had it's A service a couple of weeks back by a MB dealer. This was the first service the car has ever had.

As I've purchased privately, I'm now a bit worried that the car which is a uk sourced car may not be under warrant.

The next service is now at 9700 accoring to the ASSTSY display and showing one spanner.

One other thing I've noted today is that three of the wheels have the balancing done on the outside on alloy wheels and the rear wheel does not have a wheel balance on it. On my old car a year 2001 Mondeo, the wheel balncers were on the inside of the alloys.

Can someone answer all/part of my questions please.

Thank you.

PS: Even having read the manual 20 times. I'm still not able to understand if the AC'off button is switched off when the light is on in that button or is on, as you would normally expect. :?:

Hi,
the service books should show the delivering dealer on the front page so it should be easy to identify whether this is a UK car or not. I am not sure but I would imagine that the warranty is 3 years throught Europe but a chat with your local dealer should resolve any questions.

The balancing is down to whoever does it. I prefer them to be on the inside, ideally using stick on weights rather than clip on as this avoids scratching the alloy and so avoids the corrosion, but my car has had both. I wonder whether they have replaced the tyres and put the spare on hence the 1 different. Check the condition of the spare I suggest.

On the aircon, a red light indicates that the aircon is OFF. The switch is actually marked EC for economy - hence if the EC is on, the aircon is off. Daft I know, but then most people keep the aircon on as the interior tends to steam up without it.

Thanks for the help

The air con button read ACoff - As I read the manual, it looks as though with the read light on that the AC is off. The is no EC on the button - is this the same thing?

Thanks again
