I've got a couple of problem, when it's cold it starts fine but cuts out straight away, it's fine after 2 mins and never has a problem when it's not cold, obviously a choke problem, but I think there are around 3 sensors involved, anybody know where I should start.
2nd, the idle wavers around 600-750 rpm, I know it doesn't sound much but others i've been in don't do it,
and finally where can I get a new viscous fan for the least money in the UK.

C class starting problems

I have a 1994 C180 Elegance auto and it starts everytime cold or warm, first turn. However, my other MB a 1997 C180 Classic auto needs 2 turns. The first turn, it fires normally, but dies or struggles and carries on after 3 seconds. Most times it dies and the second turn its ok. Why? If its struggling, a step on the accelerator helps it to carry on so it :?: :? seems like fuel supply problems? Need a new fuel pump and filter? Incidentally the 1994 model has a new pump and fuel filter, new plugs, belt while the 1997 has no new stuff. Last service was in February. You guys have any ideas? The 1994 is on 198K kms and the 1997 is on 224k kms. The 1997 drives like brand new. looks brand new in and out and a very outstanding example for its age and distance gone. The 1994 drive is average , cold starts a bit dodgy with the first harsh change when cold. Apparently this crazy action has been excluded in the facelift models with the new 5sp trans.
