Hi Everyone,

I hooked up my iCarsoft V2 today to check the DPF soot % of my newly purchased MB and firstly I struggled to find any option which gave a % reading as I have seen in various YouTube videos etc. It did state the soot content in grams however (5.40g). Am I missing where to find the option or I assume all models give different live data and this is not one for mine?

The car is not showing a EML but I did find the following 'Historic' error codes but no indication of when exactly they showed up in it's past.

15FC00 - The learned values for component 'B28/8)DPF differential pressure sensor) are outside the permissible range
14CF00 - The positive control deviation during exhaust gas recirculation control is too high
14B700 - The control deviation of component 'Y27/9(Exhaust gas recirculation actuator) is too high

Below is live data readout of DPF. The last regen was at what I assume 94269 miles (mileage now is 102000 Miles / 164153KM). I had it on the motorway for 3 hours 2 days ago so was hoping a regen would have happened if needed then. I don't believe these iCarsoft V2 kits can force a regen.

Any pointers?

Thanks in advanced.

It is usual "fill level in %" but your reader only seems to show ash content and soot content.

Soot gets burned into ash during a regen, so this would seem to indicate that your DPF is not in need of a regen (the pressure differential indicates the same).

That's reassuring to hear, thank you.

As far as the stored error codes. Given I don't have any EML should I just clear the codes and see if anything resurfaces. or is it best to be proactive and look into this more?

When i checked mine on the porker it gave the distance since last regen in meters , not km.

When i worked out the fuel usage / distance travelled post re-gen it tied in with the average display on the dash.

Below is a print out of my 'Check DPF Filter' status just prior to a regen which triggers at 100% Fill, after you have chosen the details of your vehicle the choices to follow are from 'Manual'

Interesting to see the different screens of the MB V 2.00 and I've never seen any German text in mine but you will notice that I had only 3g of soot @99% full when the regen process was about to start.

See the text above the dashed line in my post #5 above, it lists my choices to the location on the instrument.

My iCarsoft CR V2.0 (1+4) does not show
Check diesel
particulate filter:

I can read other live data but DPF is not offered. Any ideas or do I need to open a dialogue with iCarsoft?

According to the blurb on the website it should, it advertises the same functions as my MB V2.0 model, have you updated your instrument from new, the current ver of software are herewith, there was a recent firmware upgrade for mine too ;

You should try contacting the retailer you bought from for support initially. I bought from https://ljmcardiagnostics.co.uk/ and find them a better resource than iCarsoft themselves!

I already have the latest software (V11.7) so it's a call to https://ljmcardiagnostics.co.uk/ where I bought mine. I notice that it doesn't offer me the "wagon" in the initial selection screen though it does later on.

Will do. LJM asked me if I had updated the unit which of course I pointed out in the first email. Oh well we will wait and see.

This is the reply I got from LJM this evening. Disappointing to say the least.

"what's the VIN?
our current scanners have NO DPF function in the list for any C class 205 cars yet, sorry .
NO FOR C(205) yet

for engine live data ,you can have a check "diagnostics " mode - Engine - see data stream ...
Or on OBDII/EOBD mode to read some data ."

I will follow up tomorrow if I find the time.

If I put W204 as the vehicle can I read any data at all? I'll have to try later today when my battery my charged.
