Looks like I have a weeping sump gasket on my car. Having a good look from the underside it looks a right bas**rd to do....

Has anyone experience of doing this before?
It looks like I will have to support the engine from above and drop the crossmember/ rack / struts and all that goes with that to gain access.....

Hi,
IMO it would be easier to take the engine out.
Are you sure it is the sump and not the the rear main oil seal, very common issue on the M113, and the oil can get blown everywhere underneath making it appear to be leaking elsewhere.

Engine out doesn't look like an easy option either really.
Had another good look at it today after cleaning the area then road testing: removed the rubber bung from the bell housing and cant see much oil in there. It looks like both rear corners of the sump are weeping. Judging by the black-gooey stuff in those areas, I think some previous DIY job has been attempted by Clint Eastwood. I hate shoddy workmanship.....
