I have a recurring fault with the fuel gauge on my 1995 W202 petrol car.
The guage usually registers no reading but occasionally comes on at the correct level and almost always registers OK for a few days when I completely fill up.

I have had a auto electricians look at the system but they couldn't sort out the fault. Any ideas out there? do u think that sender units will need replacing / can they be cleaned with an additive to the tank etc.

Cheers

Also any idea what the part No's are for both the LH and RH senders as I'm trying to price up parts from Merman.

Cheers

These fuel senders were very common at one point. sulpher from the fuel built up on the contact of the internal resistors and gave erratic readings, not sure on part numbers.

Hi,
Try using a different brand of fuel may sound stupid but it has worked for mine

Another cure is to add some injector cleaner
