Hi

I got my 2000W C220CDI approx 5 weeks ago. I have posted before about the HI indicator appearing intermittently due to the dealer overfilling of oil (2mm above max)

Subsequently I syphoned 1 litre of oil using a thin plastic tube and the dipstick hole! (It took 24 hours to do).

Anyway I took the car for a long run and the HI indicator didn't appear. However I've just noticed that there seems to be an oil leak. I can't tell exactly where it's coming from and I'm also not mechanically minded.

The top level of the engine is clean. I can see oil on the plate protecting the underneath of the car below the engine. The oil is on this plate on the'north' side of the engine towards the windscreen.

Have I blown an engine seal because the oil was overfilled?! How much would this cost to fix?

Thanks

I think the best thing to do is to wipe off the oil, and have a look again after you have done a run.
Don't worry Alex, nothing is blown, the garage who put the oil in may have been clumsy, and spilt some.
