C220CDI Power Loss

I have just driven my wifes 2001 C220CDI for the 1st time in a year and noticed that there is a significant power loss between 2000 and 3000rpm. You cannot accelerate up any kind of incline and 0-60 is measured in minutes. I've tried revving the car and it will not go above 3000rpm.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

First call would be the MAF.

Thanks for the advice.

I called out Mercedes Breakdown who ran their diagnostic and traced a faulty MAF. It was replaced by the engineer at a cost of £60 which would still be less than the local independant or dealer.
