I've got a white C230 ( 98 ) with about 110K miles on it in really great shape cosmetically and mechanically, but lately a really strange problem has popped up. When I'm driving the engine will sometimes stumble (only if I'm accelerating) and then it starts to rumble. The whole car shakes and I lose most of my torque making it very hard to drive because I can't accelerate. If I stop the car and restart it, the problem goes away. I don't think it's the spark plugs, I just changed those. Does anybody know what this problem could be? I've got a hunch it's an O2 sensor going bad.
