C240 1998. Still got starting problems

I have put a new fuel pump,F/inj` temp` sensor, and crank sensor.I`ve still got starting problems.It grinds away for a good 5 or six seconds before it starts.It sounds like a carb engine without the choke working.Its firing but not enough to start straight away.Once it does fire up and you switch off and start again its fine,but leave for a hour or two its back to grinding away again.Any more ideas please,I am reaching for the box of matches as I type.
