c250 head gasket

hi all im new here i was driving my car down motorway when the oil light came on so i stopped to check when i did i noticed oil in the water expansion bottle there was no overheating or lack of power ect i asked someone they said it could be head gasket or oil cooler any advice ps mb say its £900 to fix

If your oil is mixing in with your water then I'm afraid your right. Was the temperature gague alright though? Once it's gone properly you'll probably notice the heaters going cold too.
