When the ambient temperature is about 6degrees c. or less my gearbox is reluctant to change gear.
I have noticed that this is coincident with the gear position indicator not illuminating to show the position of the gear lever (sidelights on).
If when in 5th gear position the gear lever is pulled back against the stop the position indicator lights up and the car changes correctly, releasing the lever causes the light to go out & gear changes are reluctant again.
Could this be due to the adjustment of the gear linkage or to adjustment of the position indicator switch? Does anyone know where the switch which illuminates the selected gear is located, is it in the gearbox itself or built into the lever housing?
many thanks guy
