Hi all, looking for a bit of advice, I'm having a power loss problem with my c250TD. Car appears to run OK around town, and will maintain a reasonable speed on motorways, but as soon as I hit even the slightest incline the speed falls of dramatically. The cruise control won't maintain a constant speed. The gearbox drops a gear in order to try and maintain a constant speed, but this has little effect.

Have changed the air filter and fuel filter and have added injection cleaner to the last two full tanks, without any success. The car passed its MOT today so I obviously don't have an emissions problem. I've pretty much run out of ideas other than perhaps a blocked cat?

Are you sure one of your turbo pipes haven't come off? Sounds like the turbo isn't kicking in, if its not the pipes check the actuator located near the air filter box.

Yep, I second that ! my pipe came off right under the intercooler at the front bottom, you have to take the noise shield off underneath to check.

If one comes off, they would not pull the skin off a rice pudding !

Thanks for the replies. Have checked and all the pipes are in place is there any easy way to check the operation of the actuator?
