C280 Sport Auto/Tip advice to purchase

HI,

I am interested in purchasing a C280 Sport V6 auto fully loaded with as many extras as possible (perhaps a late 1999/2000 model).

Can anyone tell me if the leather seats are electric as standard and are they made by Recaro.

Is the tiptronic gearbox worth the extra as to the standard auto ?

What extras are worth paying for (I would like air con/leather/sunroof/cd/auto dimm mirror & rainsensor) ?

Finally I have searched the MB website but there aren't any cars avilable
where else can I look ?

Hi,

You wont find much difference in price betwwen tip and normal - therefore go for the tip as it does give you that much extra control.

Youll be lucky to get both a/c and sunroof, so make your choice! I think youll find most with a/c.

Rainsensor is quite good, more usefull than i thought...

CD etc are all minor things in my opinion, great if its got it, if not, itll cost you a fraction more to get a system you like on the aftermarket.

There are a lot on the autotrader website (autotrader.co.uk) - From there you will also see ads from MB Direct. Prices will be a little higher, but you get usually perfect condition and warranty etc..
Also look at Prestige Marques magazine.

I think itll be a case of trawling throuigh the magazines to wait for the perfect bargain.

I thought all the V6 C class had a/c as standard from 97/98 or so. Manual ac that is, not the Climatronic. I dont think the seats would be Recaro though - there are the MB orthopeadic sport seats that are fitted to the C43's, complete the pneumatic lumber & side support adjustments - v/nice.
