Think I'm missing a petrol noise to be honest! Plus a convertible is always fun!

Still tempted to sell up after getting it done and get a Boxter S.. But I think that's the sunshine we are having talking!!

The air filters alone for a C350 are £120 from MB, £60 on E-Bay

As longs as the intermediate shaft bearing is okay, it shouldn't cost too much

Go for an SL55K then... you'd be able to use the Boxster engine as your starter motor

Why would you want to spend a "Monkey" on getting it serviced then sell it ??.
Does anybody know a good Porsche "Indy" in Berkhamstead ??

FYI Indy quoted 420.59 inc VAT.

For those who are interested, here is the breakdown of the quote from MB:

Service B Routine Maintenance cost*:£426.36
....
Replace air filter element £153.96
Replace fuel filter £172.20

That's a chunky price for the basic B service, and wow! - I guessed £250 for both the filters - I knew they were dear, but £326 seems insane.

Does the indie price included the additional items? Seems a very good price if it does - as I said before, the twin air filters and the fuel filter are pretty expensive.

Having just spent over £2k on an 10yr old C220 Coupe (new turbo and V belt, service, new battery and drive shaft discs), and more expense to come, I'm finding this tale of woe (spend nearly £1k on a 4 yr old's service) strangely satisfying.....:twisted:......welcome to the wonderful world of MB.

Gulp! I spent just over a grand on mine earlier in the year and that felt a bit mad.
