Hi Gents

Showing my ignorance here but since I don't have a handbook or service schedule could someone tell me:

Does the straight six E320 have a chain or cambelt?
If the latter what is the recommended change interval
Is it a DIY or garage job
If DIY how long should it take

Cheers

Straight six E320 is the 104 engine and its a timing chain. Normally changed during engine rebuild at 180k plus. They dont normally cause a problem, unlike cam belt engines.

All Mercedes engines have a timing chain , at the mileage on your engine the chain should outlast the rest of the car if the oil and filter is changed regularly.
