:( hi to everyone and hope you`ve had a good xmas, please, please, can someone help me, and make my xmas, still getting the same problems on my e280, over the last four days i have stripped most of the head back down and reset the timing and the inlet camshaft timing, today turned the key and the same, will not idle properly and when the revs get to 2500rpm you get a rattle from the cam if you take the revs up slowly to 3500rpm she gets louder, if you go 3700-4000 rpm noise gets better, could it be possible that the camshaft solenoid is not doing its job, and what is its job, and is there anyway of checking this, e.g, how many volts go to this, and is it when the keys turned on, at idle,???? or on revs, im getting to the point of giving up so any idears would be helpfull.

thanks
rod
