Hi, has anyone ever changed old style command for new type wide screen,

I specifically refer to S class, but could be same on other models

I personally think the old style is very poor for navigation, and would rather use a Navman window mounted

You could, but a massive job as it is a different system

Must admit, the command was one of the buying points on my 2001 CLK, but in hindsight I shouldn't have really been that bothered. Likewise if I'm going to be needing the sat nav in anger, I'll be using my tom tom! Still love the car though!

Would you aggree the phone, radio, cd player are great but the sat nav by todays standards is poor, I am not sure if it is possible to buy an updated disk or not,

I have a choice of two later widescreen commands from smashed models, but unsure wether they will fit ? As usual main dealers are as helpfull as an umbrella in a cyclone .

Widescreen comand 2 as fitted to the 2003 CL/s class is possible with trim changes. Going to Comand APS is a whole different kettle of fish though.
